So we've been at our resort for a couple of days, and we now know that the hotel has a couple of cats that roam the grounds to keep the lizard population down, and tend to get tidbits from the guests. Having seen what our resort had to offer, we decided to check out one of the other Playa resorts we could go to. Our package included the ability to visit 2 other Riu resorts and be able to eat at their restaurants for free and also use their pools and facilities if we wanted. So off we went, to the 'next level up' resort (I can't remember which one it was, I might have to look it up). We got there not long before lunch, and while we waited for the restaurant to open up we checked out the lobby a little bit, which was really nice. The dining room was huge, but honestly I liked the lunch selection at our place better.
After some lunch, we went to the pool (that took some bit to find), and had a devil of a time finding 2 lounge chairs next to each other. It was just packed with people. But almost no one was swimming because of palm fronds in the water from guys redoing the roofs on the shade thingy's. Don't get me wrong, it was pretty nice, but I actually preferred our pool, and our bar. It was smaller, and was never as full, cleaner, and felt more personal. We really wanted to visit the Riu Palace, but all we did was walk by and take pictures of the entrance. So we got back to our resort, and we finally got a picture of this little guy, he liked to eat fruit from some of the trees around the resort. None of the staff seemed to have any idea what we were talking about when we asked them about it, so I finally looked it up once we got home, and I think it is an 'Agouti'. They were all over the place, unless you wanted to take a picture of one. So all in all, it was a pretty quiet, relaxing day, which of course is what we wanted for our honeymoon.
